It is an early Sunday morning, and I’ve just stepped into Hanna’s Diner & Deli Shoppe for the first time. Unlike the big breakfast joints, Hanna’s is a quaint, warm, welcoming establishment run by Hanna herself and her family. I was greeted like I was a long time family friend. Nothing in the world compares to that! This diner is family friendly, so feel free to bring the whole family, I mean who can resist a whipped creme smiley face pancake!
Glazing over the menu, I just couldn’t decide what I wanted to sink my teeth into. Finally, a decision had to be made, as it would change over to the lunch menu if I didn’t make up my mind already. I ordered an omelet, but not just any ordinary omelet! One with kielbasa! Kielbasa is delicious anytime of the day, that’s for sure! It came with a generous heaping of homefries and toast. I also couldn’t resist a chocolate chip pancake which was delicious in itself, but made my heart skip beats of joy when it came with a smile made of whipped creme.
Even though it was an early morning, I couldn’t resist trying the Polish Platter- packed with pierogie’s, sauerkraut, and golumpki’s. That is what I call ‘soul food.’ The pierogie’s were made with either cabbage, potato, or meat and they all were packed with their own bursts of flavors that made you want to order and entire platter to take home with you.
You can be apart of the experience too, at Hanna’s Diner & Deli Shoppe in Indian Orchard. They are open 7a to 7p, they do catering and they have their own little Deli packed with fresh-cut meats and cheeses, organic and vegan products and authentic Polish goods so you can attempt your own at home. Get your half off gift certificate here while they last!
